Room 404
ROOM 404
On June 15, 2026, Lin Xia signs a 404-day lease for Room 404, Building 4, Qingcheng Garden. She is not here for the cheap rent: three years ago her brother Lin Yuan's last location ping vanished near this building. On her first night she finds a Wi-Fi network called “ZhangWei_404,” a torn USB drive in the desk, and a recorder marked “Lin Yuan / 2023.08.17” in the landlord's storage box. The previous tenant's blog records a colder pattern: the eleven tenants before him each disappeared on day 404.
